What Makes Us Different?
What do we think sets us apart from other farming operations? We can tell you! Keep reading!
Our farm is special in that we are able to raise all of the forage that our steers and hogs consume! We call what our steers eat a forage-based diet. This means that what they eat is a plant based that we grow ourselves. They are fed a consistent diet throughout their life—no finishing on corn the last 120 days—they are fed alfalfa haylage, high moisture corn, and soybean meal throughout their life. Our hogs are also fed a consistent diet of soybean meal, high moisture corn, and mineral throughout their lives. We believe this allows for the best meat possible for all of our customers to enjoy.
We grow all of our own alfalfa hay as well as corn right here on the farm! We are able to store this hay by chopping it and putting it into a silo for it to ferment! We use a combine to harvest our corn, grind it into high moisture corn, and then put it into a silo for storage as well. We personally custom mix our ration that the steers eat! We are able to change the food on the fly for what the animals need depending on their growth. We work closely with our nutritionist if needed, to make tweaks to the ration so that the steers grow the best for you as the consumer!
What else is great about us and our bulk packages? NO HANGING WEIGHT CONFUSION!
What does that mean you ask? Let us tell you!
We guarantee the weights for the bulk package portions of steers and hogs we sell. You know EXACTLY how much you will be bringing home for the flat rate. No paying the farmer a per pound price and then the butcher a processing fee for the animal. Sometimes this results in you not getting what you think you are paying for! We take the guessing out of it all for you! Everything is all included in our price right down to delivery to one of our determined spots! You get a portion of ALL of the animal too which allows a well-rounded sample of what the animal offer—even in the smaller beef packages!
We absolutely love our family farm and that we get to share our awesome beef, pork, and chicken with you. We appreciate you following our social media pages, sharing/liking our posts, and especially are thankful that you support local when you purchase from us!
